Kringle Cars & Coffee was held on April 12. While the attending exhibitors with their classic import and domestic beauties marked the opening of the Cars & Coffee 2015 season, it also meant that it was time to swing open the Kringle Café doors and put the coffee on. The path points west towards this little walkup bistro – we know this because the aroma of grilled hot dogs wafts towards us. This year, they’ve added red pepper relish and sauerkraut along with the usual mustard, ketchup and sweet relish condiments. The retail manager, Todd Giroux, recommends the pepper relish and sauerkraut. He says, “That’s my favorite.” Or we can top our dog with chili! The meal deal is a deal – hot dog, chips, beverage and a cookie: $5 (50 cents extra if you want chili). It’s great! And if you just want the chili, get a delicious bowl of it or the “weekend soup.” The Café also offers a mix of confections – pastries, croissants, cookies and the Farm Table’s yummy chocolate or vanilla cupcakes. Stop by for some coffee, lemonade, tea or hot chocolate (if it’s cool outside). You can take everything to go or relax at one of the outdoor tables. Or just stop by and say hello! The Kringle Candle Café is open on Saturdays and Sundays only from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
