A BRIEF HISTORY OF DONUTRY
National Donut Day has become the new “fake holiday” of choice, especially for those who dread celebrating Valentine’s Day. And what’s even better, The Salvation Army was the proponent behind this holiday. During World War I, the Salvation Army of France served coffee and donuts to soldiers in the trenches. Feeding the hungry is still a major cause of the Salvation Army and an underlying motive behind National Donut Day. In honor of this kind act, National Donut Day is celebrated on the first Friday during the month of June. What does this celebration entail? Free donuts of course. We scoured the web to find you the best donut steals for this years’ celebration.
